Are there any traditions existing in modern Egypt that are directly descended from ancient Egyptian traditions?
yes, there are many ancient Egyptian traditions that are being practiced till today ,Tahtib is common in upper Egypt it’s a stick-fighting martial art that dates back to 2500 BC. Fisikh (preserved fish), hibiscus tea, Maamoul, Ful and Eish Baladi are all common foods that date back to ancient Egypt
. Some city names like Asyut, Fayuim, Hatnoub, Aswan, Damanhour and Alexandria did not change from ancient times and remain having the same name.
The current Egyptian dialect also has many words derived from Coptic . Mud brick making to build houses is still practiced in upper Egypt as well.
